Scripture teaches that difficulties refine our faith like fire refines gold. This process is uncomfortable, but it produces strength, endurance, and deeper trust in God. Reflect today on a current or past trial and consider how it has shaped your character or your walk with God. Ask Him to continue building perseverance in you. For a practical step, write a short prayer committing to trust God “even if,” like the three men in the furnace, choosing faith regardless of circumstance.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

This isn't a commentary on your faith—it's a reality of human existence. The promise isn't that you'll never grow weary, but that "those who trust in the Lord will find new strength." Notice the progression: they soar like eagles, run without weariness, and walk without fainting. God meets us in every season—whether we're soaring in victory, running through challenges, or simply walking through the mundane difficulties of daily life. His strength is available for each phase. You don't have to manufacture energy or fake enthusiasm. Simply trust Him, and He will renew your strength according to what you need today. As you close this devotional journey, remember: life with Christ will present more than you can handle, but never more than He can carry. Rest in His sufficiency.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

"If I let you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength." Sometimes God removes what we trust in so we remember who we need to trust in. He strips away our self-reliance, our backup plans, and our comfortable resources because He wants us to experience His faithfulness, not just our own competence. Perhaps God is trimming something from your life right now—resources, relationships, or opportunities you thought you needed. Don't despair. He may be positioning you to witness His power in ways you never would have if you'd relied on your own strength. Trust Him in the reduction.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

Rather than boasting about his impressive credentials and accomplishments, Paul chose to boast in his weaknesses so Christ's power could work through him. This challenges our culture's obsession with self-sufficiency and image management. God isn't looking for people who can do it all; He's looking for people who know they can't and will depend on Him. When we acknowledge our inadequacy, we discover God's adequacy. Your limitations aren't obstacles to God's work—they're opportunities for His power to shine. Today, identify one area where you feel inadequate or weak. Instead of hiding it, offer it to God as a place where His strength can be displayed. His grace is truly all you need.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

Jesus positions Himself not as a critic standing back with pointers, but as one who lifts what we cannot lift ourselves. Yet this desperate moment became his turning point—he stopped relying on himself and learned to rely only on God. Your struggle isn't a sign of weak faith; it's often the doorway to deeper dependence on God. When you reach the end of yourself, you discover the sufficiency of Christ. This isn't wishful thinking; it's the trustworthy promise of the One who cannot lie. Let this hope anchor you when present circumstances threaten to overwhelm. The story isn't over yet.

Reflection Question: What broken thing in your life do you most long for God to make right?

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

The comfort God gives in your suffering becomes the comfort you offer others in theirs. You're not too broken, too messed up, or too far gone to be used by God. In fact, when you feel emptiest, you depend most fully on His strength, and He works most powerfully through you. Your past pain becomes your present ministry. Today, consider: What difficult experience has God brought you through? Who in your life might need the comfort you received? God wastes nothing. After suffering "a little while," He restores, supports, strengthens, and establishes you. Your shipwreck has purpose.

Closing Prayer: Father, thank You that storms don't mean You've abandoned us. The battlefield image is powerful: we sit defeated, armor cast aside, while the battle still rages. God's call to us is simple but urgent: "Get up. Put your armor back on. Keep fighting." Each piece matters—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word. Notice that prayer isn't a piece of armor; it's the atmosphere in which we wear it all. Discouragement whispers, "You're done. You can't continue." But like a trainer pushing for two more reps, God says you have more strength than you realize—His strength. Today, specifically put on each piece of armor through prayer. Name them. Claim them. Stand firm. When life depletes us, Scripture revives our spirits and renews our minds. We cannot fight battles on empty tanks. Today, don't just read the Bible—feast on it. Find one verse that strengthens you and meditate on it throughout the day. Let truth replace worry. Fourteen days of relentless storm had worn everyone down, yet Paul's faith remained anchored. Notice the progression: God spoke, Paul believed, Paul encouraged others. Faith isn't denial of difficulty; it's trust despite difficulty. When God says "you will not drown" and "you will not be burned," He's not promising storm-free living—He's promising storm-proof presence. Today, write down one promise from Scripture that speaks to your current situation. Memorize it. Repeat it when anxiety rises. Faith doesn't eliminate the waves, but it keeps you from going under. Your belief in God's faithfulness becomes the life preserver for others watching your response to trials.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

Like Paul, we face seasons when circumstances rage around us, blocking out the light. Yet God promises His presence through deep waters and rivers of difficulty. Today, identify one storm you're facing. Instead of asking "Why is God allowing this?" ask "Where is God in this?" His presence transforms our perspective. He doesn't always calm the storm immediately, but He always calms His child in the storm. He is gentle and loving, even in correction.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. God's thoughts toward you outnumber the grains of sand. There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Stop seeing yourself through the lens of past failures, others' opinions, or your own harsh self-judgment. Ask God today: "Help me see myself the way You see me." You are His chosen instrument. You are His beloved child. You are being transformed into Christ's image. Let this truth flood your heart with light and confident hope.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

The old life is gone; new life has begun. This isn't about behavior modification—it's complete transformation from the inside out. Paul prays that our hearts would be "flooded with light" so we can understand the confident hope we have in Christ.
Change requires letting go. Saul had to release his identity as a persecutor to embrace his calling as an apostle. What old beliefs, habits, or identities do you need to release? Becoming new doesn't happen instantly in every area, but it starts with surrender. God's goal isn't to make you slightly nicer—it's to completely remake you in Christ's image. This process can feel like a house renovation: messy, uncomfortable, revealing unexpected problems. But the result is worth it. Ask God to flood your heart with light today.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:
