We were made for more—more than self-reliance, more than religious duty, more than going through the motions. The same Spirit who empowered those first believers dwells in you. He enables, guides, convicts, comforts, and empowers. Don't settle for powerless Christianity. Don't argue about theology while missing the relationship. Peter's answer was clear: "Repent and be baptized." Three thousand people responded that day. The Spirit's work brings conviction, and conviction leads to transformation. Repentance isn't just feeling sorry—it's turning around, changing direction, receiving forgiveness. The promise of the Holy Spirit isn't just for the original disciples; it's "for you and your children and for all who are far off." That includes you today. Perhaps you've been distant from God, caught in patterns that dishonor Him, or simply going through religious motions. The Spirit still calls. The invitation still stands. Respond with honesty. Turn toward Jesus. Experience the transformation that comes when God's Spirit fills your life.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

The believers devoted themselves to learning together, eating together, praying together, and sharing everything. Unity isn't uniformity; it's bringing our different strengths to work toward God's purposes together. Notice they broke bread in homes with "glad and sincere hearts." Church isn't just Sunday morning—it's lingering after service, sharing meals, introducing strangers, building genuine community. When we work together, tension naturally arises because we're different. But unity means choosing connection over convenience, relationship over routine. Next week, don't rush out after church. Stay. Chat. Invite someone to coffee. Introduce two people who don't know each other. Unity is built one conversation, one meal, one act of fellowship at a time.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

He anchored the new experience in the ancient truth of God's Word. We live in an age of spiritual opinions and competing voices. How do we discern truth? We return to Scripture. Like an electrician consulting the code book before confidently proceeding, we must open our Bibles regularly, not just when confused. The Word isn't just for scholars; it's understandable, rich, and alive for every believer. Don't trust your memory or assumptions. Read it. Study it. Let Scripture interpret experience, not the other way around. When something seems unclear, don't just Google—open your Bible first, ask trusted believers, and let God's Word guide you.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

Notice those crucial words: "as the Spirit enabled them." The most powerful moments of faith aren't the loudest or most dramatic; they're the ones where we genuinely follow God's leading. Perhaps it's sending an unexpected text to a struggling friend, offering kindness to a difficult neighbor, or giving sacrificially when prompted. The Holy Spirit works in ways we don't anticipate—sometimes through tongues, sometimes through timely conversations, sometimes through quiet obedience. This week, pause and listen. When you sense a gentle nudge to reach out, encourage, or serve, don't dismiss it. Follow as the Spirit enables you.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

The early church gathered with anticipation, and God poured out His Spirit powerfully. We serve a God who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. But expectation requires faith—faith that believes God is present, active, and ready to work. Too often we go through the motions, forgetting that every moment with God's people is an opportunity for transformation. Someone could walk in broken and leave healed, not from our programs or performance but from God's presence. Today, shake off complacency. Come before God with holy expectation. Ask Him to do more—in your heart, in your family, in your church. Then watch and see what He will do. God is here, His Spirit is moving, and He's waiting for you to join Him ♥

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

He is gentle, patient, waiting for you to open the door and invite Him into the deeper places. Unlike the enemy who bulldozes past our boundaries, God honors our choice. But here's the beautiful truth: He wants to do more in your life than you can imagine. He longs to bring healing, freedom, and purpose beyond your expectations. The question is: are your arms folded or outstretched? Are you holding back in fear, or are you willing to drop your defenses and let God work? Humility and prayer open the door to restoration. Today, identify one area where you've been closed off to God. Confess it, and invite Him to do something new. He's been waiting for this moment.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

They gathered constantly, unified in seeking God's face together. True unity doesn't come from everyone agreeing on every detail—it comes when each person humbles themselves before God and says, "Whatever You want, I want." Prayer transforms our hearts from self-focus to God-focus. It's nearly impossible to hold grudges against someone you're genuinely praying for and blessing. When we gather in humble, expectant prayer, we create space for God to move powerfully. Is there someone you're struggling to get along with? Begin praying for them daily. Is your church family fragmented? Commit to prayer for unity. Harmony is God's blessing, and it flows from hearts aligned with Him through prayer.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

The Holy Spirit's power isn't given for our comfort alone—it's given to equip us for kingdom work. God doesn't fill us with His presence so we can gather comfortably with like-minded believers; He empowers us to be witnesses in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. This means your home, your workplace, your community, and even those places and people that make you uncomfortable. The power of the Holy Spirit comes with purpose. Ask yourself today: Am I using God's power to stay comfortable, or am I allowing Him to stretch me into the mission He's called me to? Just as Jesus reminded the disciples of the Holy Spirit He had already promised, God reminds us of His faithfulness. In seasons of waiting, we can feel forgotten or abandoned, but the gap between promise and fulfillment doesn't mean God has moved on. Like a seed planted in soil, invisible growth is happening beneath the surface. Your waiting is not wasted time; it's preparation time. God is working even when you cannot see it. Trust that what He has spoken over your life will come to pass. His timing is perfect, and His promises are sure. Today, spend time simply being with Jesus—not asking for things, not confessing a list of failures, just sitting in His presence and receiving His unconditional love.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

Jesus was "despised and rejected," "wounded for our transgressions," and "crushed for our iniquities." This wasn't an accident or tragedy—it was divine love in action. When we face our own Friday moments of pain and confusion, remember that God is writing a bigger story. The cross teaches us that God doesn't waste our suffering; He transforms it. What looks like defeat now will be revealed as part of God's victorious plan.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

Not exactly an encouraging job description. Yet this was God's specific plan for him. Sometimes God's calling leads us to difficult places—not as punishment, but as purpose. The path you didn't choose, the door that closed, the opportunity that fell through—these aren't always mistakes. They may be God's protection or redirection toward something better. The pastor who wanted to work in a church found his true ministry in oil sands mines, reaching men who would never enter a sanctuary. Your disappointment might be God's appointment. Trust that He's positioning you exactly where you need to be, even when it makes no sense.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

This doesn't minimize real pain—it reframes it. The disciples watching Jesus arrested felt devastated and abandoned. Their hope seemed crushed. Yet God hadn't forgotten them; Friday wasn't the end. When you face disappointment, remember: God never promised to fix everything here on earth. Injustice, sickness, loss—these grieve God's heart too. He doesn't cause every hardship to teach you lessons. Instead, He walks with you through it, working toward ultimate restoration in eternity. Your current chapter, however painful, isn't the conclusion. Fix your eyes on what is unseen and eternal.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

He told the disciples exactly what would happen—betrayal, mockery, death, resurrection. Yet verse 34 says they understood none of it. The meaning was hidden from them. How often do we miss God's clear direction because it doesn't align with our desires? The disciples wanted political liberation; God offered spiritual salvation. Their expectations created blindness. When life doesn't unfold as you planned, pause before assuming God forgot you. Perhaps He's doing something far greater than you can currently comprehend. Ask God to remove the filters of your expectations so you can see His truth clearly, even when it's difficult to accept.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:

Instead, Jesus chose a young donkey—the humblest entrance imaginable. This wasn't weakness; it was intentional. God's plans rarely match our expectations. Where we see power in force, God sees power in humility. Where we anticipate conquest, God offers sacrifice. The disciples missed what Jesus clearly told them because it didn't fit their vision. Today, ask yourself: Am I holding so tightly to my expectations that I'm missing what God is actually doing? Sometimes the most powerful move God makes looks nothing like what we imagined. His ways are higher, and His humble approach changes everything.

To view the sermon this devotional is based on, please click the link below:
