Hurt and Healing

Nov 23, 2025    Pastor Heather Greiner

This sermon addresses the sensitive topic of hurt and healing within families, both biological and church families. Using the story of Joseph and his brothers as the foundation, the message demonstrates that while every family experiences brokenness, pain, and betrayal, God offers a path toward restoration through forgiveness. The sermon emphasizes that healing is not instantaneous but a process that God uses to shape and strengthen us. Even when relationships cannot be fully restored, personal healing is possible through forgiveness. The central theological point is that what God can accomplish through a heart full of forgiveness is far greater than anything others can do through hurt. God doesn't simply return us to how things were before the pain; instead, He moves us forward and creates something new.
