The Foundation of Gratitude
Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18
Paul's instruction to "give thanks in all circumstances" wasn't written from a place of comfort, but from experience with persecution and hardship. When he penned these words to the Thessalonians, he remembered the riot that drove him from their city, the mob that pursued him to the next town. Yet his response wasn't bitterness but grace.
