Freedom Through Truth
Reading: John 8:31-36 and Ephesians 2:8-10
Jesus declared that knowing the truth would set us free, yet many perceive Christianity as restrictive rules. The profound truth is this: salvation is a gift, not a reward for good behavior. We don't earn God's love through performance or rule-keeping; we simply receive it. This liberates us from the exhausting treadmill of trying to be good enough. Like guardrails on a dangerous road, God's guidelines aren't meant to restrict our joy but to protect our journey. His commandments are not burdensome—they lead to life. When we understand God's heart behind His Word, we discover that obedience flows from love, not obligation. Today, ask yourself: am I striving to earn God's acceptance, or resting in His grace?
