Day 3 of In Every Conflict...Grace

 Extending Forgiveness Freely

Reading: Matthew 18:21-35

Peter thought offering forgiveness seven times was generous—more than double the cultural expectation. Jesus shattered that calculation: "seventy times seven." He wasn't asking for mathematical precision but calling us to stop counting altogether. Forgiveness should become our default posture, not a limited resource we ration carefully. When someone hurts you, your first instinct can be to extend grace and give the benefit of the doubt. This doesn't mean ignoring harm or enabling abuse, but approaching conflict with humility, remembering the massive debt God forgave you. Unforgiveness is a burden you carry, not the other person. Today, is there someone you need to forgive? Release them, not because they deserve it, but because you've been released.

Reflection: What grudges are you keeping count of? What would it look like to forgive freely today?
