Day 1 of Gratitude Through Hardship

The Foundation of Gratitude

Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18

Paul's instruction to "give thanks in all circumstances" wasn't written from a place of comfort, but from experience with persecution and hardship. When he penned these words to the Thessalonians, he remembered the riot that drove him from their city, the mob that pursued him to the next town. Yet his response wasn't bitterness but grace. This reveals a profound truth: gratitude isn't dependent on our circumstances being pleasant—it's rooted in God's unchanging character. Today, consider one difficult situation you're facing. Can you thank God not for the hardship itself, but for His presence within it? True gratitude acknowledges that God is working even when we cannot see the outcome.
