Day 4 of Hurt and Healing

God Restores What Was Lost

Reading: Joel 2:25-27; Isaiah 43:18-19

We often want restoration to mean going back to how things were before the hurt happened. But God doesn't take us backward; He moves us forward and creates something new. He promises to restore what the locusts have eaten, to give back what was lost. Yet His restoration isn't a return to the old normal—it's the creation of something better than we could have imagined. Joseph's family was never the same after their reconciliation, but it was restored in a new way that fulfilled God's greater purposes. Trust that God is doing something new in your situation. He's making pathways through your wilderness and creating rivers in your dry wasteland. Don't look back; look ahead to what He is preparing.

Reflection: What loss are you grieving? Can you trust God to create something new rather than simply restoring what was?
