Empowered to Love
Reading: 1 John 4:7-12 and 1 Peter 1:22-23
The clearest evidence of the Spirit's presence isn't spectacular gifts but supernatural love. Born again through God's eternal word, we're commanded to love one another deeply from the heart. This isn't sentimental feeling but sacrificial action—loving as Jesus loved us. Love comes from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The early church demonstrated this radical love that broke down barriers between Jews and Samaritans, masters and servants, rich and poor. When Peter and John laid hands on Samaritan believers—former enemies—the Spirit fell upon them. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with His love for someone difficult to love. Let divine love flow through you.
