Day 4 of Don't Stop

Pray for Boldness, Not Removal

Reading
:  Acts 4:23-31

When facing persecution, the disciples didn't pray for God to remove their enemies or make life easier. They prayed for boldness to continue their mission. This prayer reveals mature faith—they understood their purpose transcended their comfort. Instead of asking God to change their circumstances, they asked Him to change them within those circumstances. They requested courage to keep speaking truth, and power to continue demonstrating God's love through healing. This is countercultural praying. Our natural instinct is to ask God to remove difficulties, but spiritual maturity asks God to use us despite difficulties. What if your current challenge is the exact platform God wants to use to display His power? Today, instead of praying only for relief, pray for boldness. Ask God to make you faithful in the fire, not just to extinguish the flames.
