Day 1 of From Death to Resurrection

The Darkness Before Dawn

Reading
:  Isaiah 53:1-12

Before the resurrection came the cross. Before Sunday came Friday's darkness. Isaiah prophesied about the suffering servant centuries before Jesus walked to Golgotha, yet the details are strikingly accurate. Jesus was "despised and rejected," "wounded for our transgressions," and "crushed for our iniquities." This wasn't an accident or tragedy—it was divine love in action. When we face our own Friday moments of pain and confusion, remember that God is writing a bigger story. The cross teaches us that God doesn't waste our suffering; He transforms it. Jesus bore what we deserved so we could receive what we could never earn. Today, reflect on what Jesus endured for you personally.

Reflection Question: What "Friday" are you experiencing right now that needs the hope of Sunday?
