Day 4 of Breakfast on the Beach

Eyes Fixed Forward

Reading
:  Hebrews 12:1-3

When Peter asked about John's future, Jesus essentially said, "What's that to you? You follow Me." Comparison steals our focus and slows our race. We each have a unique calling, and watching someone else's journey distracts us from our own obedience. Like runners who stumble when looking backward, we lose momentum when we compare ourselves to others. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. Your responsibility is your own conduct and calling, not managing or measuring someone else's. Today, identify one area where you're comparing yourself to another believer. Release that comparison and ask God to clarify what He's specifically calling you to do.
