Day 5 of Walking in the Holy Spirit's Power and Love
Baptized and Empowered for Purpose
Reading: Acts 1:4-8; Acts 10:44-48; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11
Being baptized in the Holy Spirit is like a cucumber becoming a pickle—a permanent transformation that changes everything. Jesus commanded His disciples to wait for this empowerment before beginning their mission. The baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts He gives aren't rewards for being good Christians; they're expressions of God's goodness toward all His children. These gifts aren't to make us superior—they're tools to build up, encourage, and edify the body of Christ and reach the lost. If you must choose between love and gifts, choose love. But here's the beautiful truth: you don't have to choose. Operate in the gifts out of a spirit of love. Today, ask your good Father for the baptism and gifts of His Spirit, not to elevate yourself, but to partner with Him in blessing others.
