Day 3 of Gratitude Through Hardship

Eyes Fixed on Eternity

Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:7-18

Paul describes believers as "hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair." How do we maintain this resilience? By fixing our eyes "not on what is seen, but on what is unseen." Our present troubles are "light and momentary" compared to eternal glory—not because they don't hurt, but because eternity outweighs them infinitely. Corrie ten Boom's grandmother understood this as she approached death, growing closer to Jesus with each passing day. She could face hardship with gratitude because she knew what awaited her. Today, let eternity inform your perspective. The reward for your faithfulness doesn't come on this "work site" of earth—it comes later, and it's worth everything.
