Day 4 of Gratitude Through Hardship

Protection Disguised as Rejection

Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6; Romans 8:28

Sometimes God's greatest gifts come wrapped in disappointment. The pastor in our sermon couldn't see for fifteen years why God closed a door he desperately wanted opened. Only later did he discover that "rejection was protection"—God had shielded his family from a situation that would have caused tremendous pain. We rarely understand God's "no" in the moment. Joseph couldn't see purpose in the pit or the prison. But years later, he told his brothers, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good." What closed door are you grieving today? Can you trust that God sees what you cannot? Thank Him not for the pain of rejection, but for His faithful protection that operates beyond your sight.
