Day 5 of Joy Comes in The Morning

Worshiping Through the Heaviness

Reading: Psalm 42:5-11

Worship is presenting yourself wholly to God, acknowledging He is Lord even when feelings contradict faith. The psalmist asks, "Why are you downcast, O my soul?" Then he preaches truth to himself: "Put your hope in God." Worship isn't pretending everything is perfect; it's declaring God is perfect even when life isn't. When you worship through tears, something shifts. The spirit of heaviness begins to lift. You exchange mourning for praise, not by denying pain, but by choosing to see beyond it. God becomes bigger than your circumstances. Today, come before Him honestly. Bring your whole self—your grief, your questions, your weariness—and simply acknowledge: You are God, and I am Yours.

Reflection: How can you practice worship today, even in your current emotional state?

Closing Prayer: Father, thank You for walking with us through every season—the joyful and the sorrowful. Help us to trust Your presence, practice gratitude, find contentment in You alone, hold onto hope, and worship even when it's difficult. Remind us that weeping lasts only through the night, but Your joy comes in the morning. In Jesus' name, Amen.
