Day 4 of Peace, Finding Rest in the Midst of Chaos

Peace in the Midst of Conflict

Reading:  Matthew 10:34-39, John 20:19-21

There's a paradox in Jesus' teaching: He didn't come to bring earthly peace, yet He repeatedly offers His peace. Following Jesus may create conflict—with cultural values, family expectations, or personal ambitions. Yet even in these tensions, Jesus stands among His frightened disciples saying, "Peace be with you." His peace isn't the absence of struggle; it's His presence in the struggle. Like the disciples locked in that room, you may face fear, uncertainty, and opposition. But Jesus enters those locked places of your heart and speaks peace over your anxiety. His peace doesn't promise an easy life, but it promises that you'll never face difficulty alone. The same Jesus who walked through locked doors walks with you through every trial.

Reflection: What conflicts or tensions are you currently facing? How can you invite Jesus' peace into those situations?
