Day 2 of Living in the In-Between

Power for a Purpose

Reading
:  Acts 1:6-8; Joel 2:28-29

The disciples wanted a timeline for restoration, but Jesus gave them a mission instead. The Holy Spirit's power isn't given for our comfort alone—it's given to equip us for kingdom work. God doesn't fill us with His presence so we can gather comfortably with like-minded believers; He empowers us to be witnesses in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. This means your home, your workplace, your community, and even those places and people that make you uncomfortable. The power of the Holy Spirit comes with purpose. Ask yourself today: Am I using God's power to stay comfortable, or am I allowing Him to stretch me into the mission He's called me to? Let the Holy Spirit move you from spectator to participant in God's redemptive story.
