Day 2 of When Life Is More Than We Can Handle

 Jesus Welcomes the Weary

Reading:   Matthew 11:25-30

Jesus doesn't just invite the successful, the strong, or those who have it all together. His tender call is specifically for those who are "weary and carry heavy burdens." Notice He doesn't say, "Try harder" or "Be better." Instead, He offers rest and promises His yoke is easy and His burden is light. This isn't an invitation to spiritual performance; it's an invitation to intimate relationship. Jesus positions Himself not as a critic standing back with pointers, but as one who lifts what we cannot lift ourselves. Today, whatever exhausts you—whether work, relationships, health concerns, or spiritual battles—bring it directly to Jesus. Don't wait until you've cleaned yourself up or figured it out. Come as you are, weary and burdened, and accept His offer of rest.
