Day 4 of When Life Is More Than We Can Handle

 Trimmed Down to Trust

Reading
:   Judges 6:11-16; 7:1-8

God intentionally reduced Gideon's army from 32,000 to 300 men—not to make victory harder, but to make it clear who deserved the credit. "If I let you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength." Sometimes God removes what we trust in so we remember who we need to trust in. He strips away our self-reliance, our backup plans, and our comfortable resources because He wants us to experience His faithfulness, not just our own competence. Perhaps God is trimming something from your life right now—resources, relationships, or opportunities you thought you needed. Don't despair. He may be positioning you to witness His power in ways you never would have if you'd relied on your own strength. Trust Him in the reduction.
