Day 4 of The Process of Redemption

 Purpose in the Process

Reading
:   1 Peter 1:6-9; James 1:2-4

Difficulty doesn't indicate divine disappointment. Paul faced beatings, shipwrecks, and persecution—yet never questioned God's love or his own faith. Peter reminds us that trials prove the genuineness of our faith, refining it like gold in fire. The heat doesn't create faith; it reveals and strengthens what's already there. Your hardship isn't punishment—it's part of the forging process that develops perseverance, character, and deeper trust. God isn't hitting you with a hammer out of anger; He's allowing circumstances that will ultimately reveal Christ's life in you. The quenching comes, but first comes the fire. Trust the process, even when you can't see the purpose.

Reflection Question: What character quality might God be developing in you through your current difficulty?
