Day 1 of A Life Built To Last
The Wisdom of Obedience
Reading: Matthew 7:24-27
Jesus draws a stark contrast between two builders. Both hear the same teaching. Both face the same storm. The difference is not intelligence or effort -- it is obedience. Hearing the words of Jesus without acting on them is not neutral ground; it is a slow drift toward instability. Ask yourself honestly today whether your faith is primarily intellectual or genuinely lived out. Knowledge of scripture is valuable, but Jesus calls us to something deeper -- a life shaped by what we know. Obedience is not a burden placed on the willing heart. It is the very thing that holds the house together when the wind comes.
Reflection Questions
In what area of your life is God calling you to move from hearing to doing?
