Day 4 of Who is My Neighbor?
Love Without Limits
Reading: Luke 10:36-37; Romans 13:8-10; 1 John 4:7-12
The religious expert wanted to draw a boundary around the word neighbor. He was looking for a limit, a point at which his obligation to love would end. Jesus answered by making the Samaritan -- a despised cultural enemy -- the hero of the story. The message was unmistakable: love does not stop at the edge of your comfort zone, your culture, your community, or your personal history with someone. The love of God that was poured out through Jesus Christ crossed every conceivable boundary to reach us. We are called to reflect that same boundary-crossing love to the world around us.

Who in your life would you find it most difficult to love as a neighbor? What is standing in the way?
