Day 3 of Humility Finds Us
Humility as a Posture, Not a Performance
Reading: 1 Peter 5:5-7
1 Peter 5:6 calls believers to humble themselves under God's mighty hand so that he may lift them up in due time. The instruction is not to perform humility for others to observe but to position yourself beneath God's authority and care. Genuine humility is not self-deprecation. It is an accurate understanding of who God is and who we are in relation to him. The moment we begin measuring our own humility, we have already drifted from it. Growth in humility is best measured not by how humble we feel but by how consistently we return to dependence on God when life presses hard against us.
Reflection: Is there an area of your life where you have quietly stopped asking God for help because you feel you have outgrown the need?
