Day 1 of Cultivating A Heart For Harvest

The Seed Worth Planting

Reading
: Mark 4:26-29

In this passage, Jesus describes the kingdom of God as a seed a man scatters on the ground, which grows even while he sleeps, through a process beyond his full understanding.

Every harvest begins with a single seed. It is easy to overlook the significance of small acts of faithfulness -- a quiet prayer for a neighbor, a moment of kindness at work, a word of encouragement spoken at just the right time. These feel small because they are small. But God does not measure impact the way we do. He takes what is ordinary and works through it in ways we cannot manufacture or predict. The farmer in this parable does not fully understand how the seed grows. He simply plants and trusts. That is your calling today. You do not need to see the full harvest to be faithful with the seed. Plant it anyway. Trust the One who brings the growth.

Reflection: Think of one person in your life who does not yet know Jesus. What small seed of love, prayer, or kindness could you plant in their life this week?
