Day 2 of Producing Fruit

The Messengers We Ignored

Reading
:  Jeremiah 7:25-28; Hebrews 1:1-2

Throughout Israel's history, God sent messenger after messenger to call His people back to faithfulness. They were not sent to condemn but to restore. The pattern in the parable mirrors the pattern of history: servants sent, servants rejected. Hebrews reminds us that God, who once spoke through prophets, has now spoken through his Son. The question is not whether God is still speaking. The question is whether we are still listening. Correction from God is not punishment disguised as love. It is love expressed as correction. A vineyard that receives no pruning produces no fruit.

Reflection:  Is there an area of your life where God has been speaking and you have been slow to respond?
